Privacy notice
What this site collects, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated October 15, 2026
This notice covers colleges.nsls.org and the meeting calendar on it. The site is run by The National Society of Leadership and Success, LLC (the NSLS, "we"). For other NSLS websites and for member accounts, see the NSLS Privacy Policy.
In short
- We measure how the site is used, with an analytics service, to learn which pages help college staff. We don't record your screen or sessions on this site.
- If you book a conversation, the details you enter go to the NSLS partnerships team so we can schedule and follow up.
- We don't sell personal information collected on this site, and this site doesn't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, this site runs no analytics for you.
Information collected when you browse
When you visit, our analytics provider, PostHog, records: the pages you view and how far you scroll; where you click, including the text of links and buttons; the website and any campaign tags that brought you here; your browser, device and screen size; your IP address and the approximate location derived from it; and page errors and loading performance. If you choose a state to book a conversation, that is recorded too.
We use this to understand which content is useful, fix problems and improve the site. It is linked to a random identifier stored in your browser, not to your name or email. Ad click IDs and email-tracking codes in the address you arrive from are masked before they are recorded.
Booking a conversation
The calendar is provided by HubSpot on our behalf. When you book, we collect what you enter: your name, email address, job title, institution, your answers to the calendar's questions and the time you choose. We also receive the page you booked from and any campaign tags from your visit, and, if you have visited www.nsls.org before, the visitor ID HubSpot set there, so we can see your earlier visits to NSLS websites alongside the booking.
- Why: to schedule the conversation, send confirmations and reminders, prepare for it, and follow up with you about the NSLS by email or phone. Follow-up calls may be recorded and transcribed.
- Who receives it: the NSLS partnerships team, and HubSpot and Google (which screens bookings for spam with reCAPTCHA) as our service providers.
- Sold or shared: no.
- How long we keep it: while we are in contact with you or your institution, and until you ask us to delete it.
The calendar can also be opened in a new tab. That page is served by HubSpot or www.nsls.org, outside this site, and the NSLS Privacy Policy and its cookies, including advertising cookies, apply there.
Cookies and browser storage
- Analytics identifier: PostHog keeps a random ID and your session in this site's browser storage (local storage and session storage). It is not a cookie and is not shared with other NSLS websites. You can remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser.
- Visit attribution: while a tab is open, the site keeps the campaign tags you arrived with and whether you came from another website, so a booking can be credited correctly. It is deleted when you close the tab.
- The calendar: HubSpot sets its own cookies inside the calendar to run it and to measure visits.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We treat both signals as a request not to be tracked. If your browser sends either, this site loads no analytics, doesn't pass HubSpot's visitor ID to the calendar, and asks the calendar not to load HubSpot's tracking code. The footer then confirms that your signal was honored. The signal applies to this site; other NSLS websites are covered by the NSLS Privacy Policy.
Who receives information
- Service providers that run parts of the site for us: PostHog (analytics), HubSpot (scheduling and our contact records), Google (reCAPTCHA in the calendar) and Netlify (hosting, which logs requests, including IP addresses).
- NSLS staff who work with colleges and universities.
- Others when required: to comply with the law or protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business.
How long we keep information
Analytics records are kept for as long as they help us understand how the site is used over time, which can be several years. Booking details are kept as described under Booking a conversation. We delete either sooner when you ask, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, including California, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale, its sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, or its use for targeted advertising. Where the law provides one, you can appeal our decision on a request. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
To make a request, email support@nsls.org with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We will confirm your identity by matching details you give us with what we hold. Someone you authorize can make a request for you with your signed permission.
Children
This site is for college and university staff. It is not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
The site is served only over encrypted connections, and we limit access to the information described here to the people and providers who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when our practices change and show the date at the top. Until October 2026, this site also recorded about a quarter of visits as session recordings, which are kept for up to one year, and stored its analytics identifier in a cookie shared with other NSLS websites.
